Meet Scott

Meet Scott. Scott has worked in the funeral industry since 2015 and is reminded every day of why he loves his job – “When the family arrives on the day of the service and they see me, I can see them relax. They have confidence that everything is as it should be, and they can focus on a meaningful farewell for their loved one"

What makes Simplicity Funerals special?
For some families, Simplicity means simple. For some, it means elegant but no fuss, and for some, it is a decision of value. Whatever the families we serve are looking for, I’m proud to say my team will meet their needs and provide a meaningful and personalised farewell.

What’s the most remarkable funeral you’ve ever arranged?
I was fortunate to be asked to do a service for a young man who was a huge Star Wars fan. His family weren’t sure how to include his love for Star Wars in the funeral service. I got in touch with 501st Legion - a charity group that dress up in costumes and visit schools, hospitals and other places. They were honoured to participate and formed a Stormtroopers guard of honour to farewell this impressive young man.

What’s one thing people don’t know about you?
Hmm, let’s see…I’m addicted to podcasts! Managing Simplicity Funerals in Victoria means driving from location to location quite often. I love nothing more than dropping on a podcast and drifting into the story. Some of my favourites are The Squiz, Conversations, The Dollop, and Every Little Thing.

Amanda and the team at Simplicity Funerals were caring and supported a seamless and beautiful funeral for our loved brother - we felt safe in their hands.
