Joondalup Business Association, in partnership with major sponsor Edith Cowan University (ECU), recently held a gala presentation dinner to present the North West Metro Small Business Awards 2011.
The awards aim is to celebrate the achievements of local businesses and encourage new small business in the Joondalup region. There are a range of different award categories which caters for a good cross-section of small local businesses.
Teresa Livingstone, Location Manager Simplicity Funerals Joondalup (pictured) won the award for the Employee of the Year. It was awarded to her for her outstanding service, dedication and care to clients. Well done Teresa.
The judging panel comprised of representatives from the sponsoring groups including Small and Medium Enterprise Research Centre, School of Management, Edith Cowan University, Commonwealth Bank of Australia and Inspired Insurance Services.
Judge, Professor Janice Redmond, from ECU’s Faculty of Business and Law congratulated all businesses who entered this year’s awards.
“This year the small business entrants demonstrated the entrepreneurial talent they bring to the Joondalup area and each business is to be congratulated for creating opportunities for local growth and employments,” says Dr Redmond.
Simplicity Funerals and Purslowe Funerals were also proud to sponsor the Best New Business award category which went to The Fullworks Cleaners.
